Message from Dr. Reilly
It was great to see so many of you at our PTO virtual meeting. Prizes were awarded to the following homerooms for the membership drive: Mrs. Abramowitz, Mrs. Moore, and Mrs. LaPlant. Students earned a Gooey's gift card from the PTO. Our staff would also like to say thank you to the PTO for Sonic Drinks today! What a nice way to start the weekend.
If you have not already done so, please take a minute to read the details in the email from CFISD last week. Our first Remote Learning Day will occur on November 3rd. On Remote Learning Days, teachers will prepare activities ahead of time for students to complete from home. Connect students will receive their remote learning day activities through Schoology. Face-to-face students will receive a paper packet that they should complete at home and bring back. All face-to-face students will bring home the packet and a lunch from food services on November 2nd. Please see the CFISD Communication linked below for important, detailed information in addition to the dates of all future Remote Learning Days.
It is important to wear a CLEAN, non-vented mask every day.

No Place for Hate
Farney Elementary takes great pride in joining the No Place for Hate initiative that provides schools with an organizing framework for combating bias, bullying and hatred, leading to long-term solutions for creating and maintaining a positive climate. We are kicking off our initiative this October by all signing our No Place for Hate Resolution of Respect and participating in a school wide activity on acceptance and inclusion and recognizing and being proud of our diversity.
Release of Information Forms
If you are needing Behavior Rating Scales completed or are wanting the school to communicate with an outside entity, private tutor, doctor etc. , you will need to complete a Release of Information Form for this school year. You can request this form through the counseling office. When asking teachers to complete Behavior Rating Scales, you will need to give one week’s notice to allow teachers ample time to complete the forms. These forms will be faxed directly to the doctor’s office and you will be notified once this is completed.
Credit By Exam
Although the application window has closed to be able to skip a grade for the current 20-21 school year, there are 2 opportunities available during the year to test to skip for the 21-22 school year. Please see the district website for testing dates and application deadlines..
We Can’t Mask how excited we are to have our student’s back on campus! In order to keep our students safe and healthy during this time we have some reminders about the use of face masks.
- Masks should be worn over the nose and mouth and securely around the face.
- Masks should not be worn if they are wet. A wet mask may make it difficult to breathe.
- Students should never share or swap masks.
- Students’ masks should be clearly identified with their names or initials, to avoid confusion or swapping.
- Masks should be washed after every day of use and/or before being used again, or if visibly soiled.
- We have disposable face masks at every entrance for those students that require one.
