FROM THE DESK OF THE PRINCIPAL:
Road Back to School UPDATE: EHT is going LIVE! As we prepare to implement our Hybrid Instruction starting the week of October 26th we will be able to offer "live streaming," and in-turn access to your child's teacher and classes. See below for more information.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
CODING CLASS
In Coding class, students created a spaced theme animation in Scratch using the broadcast blocks. Students added the backdrop, sprites and the code to have the sprites move along the coordinate plane to have a conversation, and have the rocketship take off.
Science Starter
Mrs. Krier's 8th Grade students complete a Science Starter every morning. Students type in the chat or share with the class what they are thankful for. Even in these times, there is always something. It is good to remember all we have. It is nice to see how many kids are thankful for their families.
GENRE STUDY BITMOJI CLASSROOM
Mrs. Anzalone created a Genre Study Bitmoji Classroom to allow students to explore and analyze different literary genres. They are able to click on the links and view emaze presentations, audios to different texts and videos. During their exploration, they answered questions presented on a Google Doc.
CLIMATE and CULTURE
Week of Respect
The NJ Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act requires that the week beginning with the first Monday in October of each year be designated as the Week of Respect in New Jersey. School districts observe this week by providing age-appropriate instruction focusing on preventing/remediating harassment, intimidation, and/or bullying. This year we posted messages on our Facebook page that displayed an understanding of respect, tolerance and diversity.
World Teacher's Day
Our Fernwood family wishes all teachers a happy #WorldTeachersDay! We thank you for your dedication in helping our students reach their full potential, especially during these challenging times.
