The Bully Prevention Kickoff!!
Another Bully Prevention Kick Off is in the books. The grand total of miles walked is 3442. That is a lot of walking. We could have walked to England. There are days when you feel so good about the school because of the fun, spirit and commitment to doing great work that is visible everywhere you go at Jericho Middle School. I want to thank all the parents who volunteered their time as well as all of our sponsors. If you had a chance to stop by during the walk I hope you enjoyed it, so grateful for the opportunity to connect with you.
Also, I cannot say enough to thank our custodial staff, Fred Mandrachia and crew, for their hard work on this day!!!!
The most important thing, it doesn’t stop here! The kickoff is simply a way for us to reconfirm our commitment to stand up to bullying, but the work happens every day. Please remember and reinforce our theme with your child. You don’t have to wear tights and a cape to be a hero. You can be a hero just by standing up for someone, helping others feel that they belong, or just being a friend to someone who needs.
Here are some great pictures and highlights of the day:
Every middle school student made a slide to honor someone who they consider a hero. Take a look.
The staff helped students reflect upon our theme by writing about individuals in their lives who have been heroes.
