Everything You Need to Know to Graduate CURRENTLY UPDATING
Graduation Information for the Class of 2019
You’ve almost made it to the end of your high school career! Through all the excitement and anticipation, we just wanted to keep everyone informed on what is going on with end-of-the-year activities and expectations we have if you are participating. Senior Exams will be on Thursday, May 16th (1, 3, 5) and Friday, May 17th (2, 4, 6). All seniors are still required to be present until May 24th.
Senior Awards Night
Date: Tuesday, May 14th, 2019
Time: 6:30 pm
Place: RCHS Auditorium
Details: Seniors are to be at school, in the small gym, by 5:45 pm and in the procession line no later than 6:10 pm. The line will form in the downstairs D hallway. Award recipients will not be notified ahead of time if they will be receiving an award, so all are encouraged to attend one of the last events you will share with fellow graduates. Scholarships, departmental awards, and other forms of recognition will be presented.
Appropriate Dress: Semi-Formal (Girls – dresses or pant suits. Boys – dress pants, dress shirt, tie). Chords and stoles should be worn if you have them.
Be sure all school fees/balances have been paid in full by May 15th. See Rhonda Pearson in the main office to pay any outstanding balances.
Be sure all materials are returned. See Mrs. Pifer in the media center to return your materials and pay for any lost items no later May 22nd. Any senior with outstanding balances/materials will not be permitted to participate in graduation.
Senior Breakfast, Graduation Video Showing, and Graduation Parade/Portrait.
Time: 8:30 – 10:30
Place: RCHS Cafeteria
Details: All seniors are invited to attend the Senior Class Breakfast. This breakfast will also include a viewing of the graduation video for the class of 2019. Seniors need to arrive to school no later than 8:15 and must sign in upon arrival in the cafeteria. Seniors should bring their cap and gown with them. Following the breakfast and video, all graduates will proceed over to Longbranch Elementary for a parade through their hallways to celebrate and share their accomplishment.
Before seniors eat, they will congregate in the gym to take the senior portrait. Students should wear a maroon, gold, or black RCHS shirt for this photo. An order form for this photo will be handed out to Seniors and is available below. You may also order online at www.mypicturesnow.com
Directly following the graduate parade, those students who are participating in the delivery of honorary diplomas will be permitted to deliver them to the school of their choice (including those delivering to Cooper teachers). All other students will be dismissed accordingly.
Should any seniors choose not to participate, attendance at school is still required or they will be reported as absent.
Senior Trip to Kings Island
Date: Wednesday, May 22
Time: 9:00 am – 7:45 pm
Price: $55 (non-season pass holders) OR $20 (season pass holders) due Wednesday, May 8th. There will be no exceptions to this date, as we have to get our final numbers to Kings Island on that date.
Details: All seniors are invited to attend a trip to Kings Island to celebrate all that you have accomplished. A field trip permission form must be filled out prior to purchasing a ticket. These can be picked up in Ms. Tracy Moore or Mr. Jacob Booher’s class room, 702 or 811. Acceptable payment methods include cash or check. Seniors should turn in their form and pay during their lunch period at the school spirit store.
Students must report to Cooper by 8:30 am to sign in with the chaperones in the cafeteria. Seniors will not need to report to school before this time. Buses will arrive back at Cooper between 7:00 and 7:45 pm. If any seniors do not attend this activity, they will need to be in class as any normal school day or they will be counted absent.
Graduation Ceremony Tickets
There are no set amount of graduation tickets as the graduation ceremony will be held at BB&T Arena. There will be open seating.

Attention parents, grandparents, friends, and family, your family member or friend is graduating soon at BB&T Arena. Create a memory that will last forever by taking advantage of this tremendous opportunity to give your graduate a special announcement for everyone to see.
Put your announcement on BB&T Arena’s LED Ribbon Boards!
Each ribbon board message is only $15.00 per line (maximum of 2 lines per graduate). Each line has a maximum of 50 characters including spaces. Announcements will run for approximately 10 seconds each, and will run multiple times throughout the entire commencement ceremony. Message rotation will vary upon the number of requests received.

Graduation Ceremony Practice
Date: Thursday, May 23rd
Time: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Location: RCHS/BB&T Arena
Permission Slips for this trip will be given via Senior English Classes and must be returned no later than May 17th.
Seniors are to report to RCHS in the cafeteria no later than 8:30 and students must check in upon arrival.
We will board buses and leave the school at 8:30/8:45 am to head to BB&T. The practice is scheduled for 9-12, but may not take that long. Students will need to communicate with rides upon departure from BB&T Arena.
All seniors must attend practice if they plan on participating in the graduation ceremony. If a senior does not attend practice, he or she will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony. When everything is taken care of, and we are done practicing, we will come back to school via buses.
Date: Wednesday, May 29th
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: BB&T Arena
Details: Seniors are to be at BB&T Arena by 6:00 pm and in the procession line (in alphabetical order) no later than 6:15 pm. Volunteers will be taking attendance and assisting with putting on graduation robes, caps, etc… Seniors will be instructed during practice on May 23rd where to report. Once seniors are in their caps and gowns, they will not be permitted to enter the Arena. Doors to the Arena will be open to guests at 6:00.
**Seniors will need to secure personal belongings with family members or friends prior to any of the ceremonies. We will not have a secure place storage and students will not be permitted to carry personal items during the ceremony.**
Immediately following the ceremony, seniors need to report to the staging area to turn in rented gowns and pick up diplomas. When seniors turn in their gowns, they will receive a receipt card which will be turned in when the diploma is picked up. The gowns are rentals, so they must be returned in order to receive diplomas.
