eLearning Days
e-Learning Day on Friday, September 20th
e-Learning at St. Luke Catholic School
St. Luke Catholic School will be hosting an eLearning day on Friday, September 20th. St. Luke will be utilizing an eLearning day in lieu of a traditional school day to allow for Fall Fest set up to occur and Parent Teacher Conferences to be conducted.
We will be following the same protocols as for past eLearning days. As a refresher and for our New Families we have re-shared our informational video explaining the eLearning protocols here at our school.
*NOTE: Since Friday, September 20th is a pre-planned eLearning day, all activities will be posted and available to students by 4pm on Thursday, September 19th. The eLearning verification form and assignments should be submitted to teachers no later than Tuesday, September 24th. Please view the video for more information.
e-Learning Overview
For planned eLearning Days, such as Friday, September 20th, the eLearning Verification Sheet outlining your child's assignments will be emailed home by 4pm on Thursday, September 19th.
Understanding that many of our families will have students sharing devices, you may find that while this is an “eLearning Day”, not all assignments will require use of a device to complete them. We hope this helps reduce screen time and ease the burden of shared devices in your home! Families with multiple students are encouraged to review the assignments with your children to establish a plan for efficiently sharing the use of computers/devices in your home.
Students in grades 5-8 will be permitted to bring their iPads home to assist with the eLearning day activities.
This is still considered a school day, so all students do need to be diligent in completing their lessons. To verify the student's attendance, each parent should sign and return the eLearning Verification Form that the teachers will be emailing home. We have added a link to a Google Form which you can submit electronically in lieu of the paper form. Either the paper or electronic form must be submitted by Tuesday, September 23rd along with the completed assignments to verify the student's attendance for Friday, September 20th.
How Can I help my child?
Parents can best support their children by:
- Printing the eLearning Verification Sheet.
- Helping your children organize their day... Please note, it is a GREAT idea to build in some planned brain breaks to help them keep their focus!
- Help them create a positive work environment that is free from distractions.
- If you have multiple children, help them construct a plan for sharing the device.
- Sign your child's Verification Form
- Remind your child to put their completed assignments in their backpack!
What if it isn't a planned eLearning Day?
During an emergency eLearning Day, homeroom teachers will email the eLearning Verification Sheets to parents no later than 9am that day. Teachers will be available from 11am-1pm via email to address any questions that may arise.
