Google Keep
Tech Tool of the Week
Paperless grading with Doctopus & Goobric
Doctopus is an add-on for Google Sheets that will automatically pull class rosters and assignment submissions from your Google Classroom and organize them into a handy Google Sheet. Goobric then allows you to add a rubric to each assignment that will display on the top of the assignment as you grade it. Assess and leave written and audio comments all in one screen!!!
- Copy and paste your rubrics into Google Sheets. Need help? Book me!
- Get the Doctopus add-on.
- Create a Google Sheet for your assignment.
- Click Add-ons >Doctopus>Open
- Ingest your Google Classroom and select the assignment you would like to grade.
- Find and attach your Google Sheet rubric.
- Click the Goobric link for the assignment you want to grade, and begin!

Tech Refresh
Google Keep! Now integrated with Google Docs!
Remember that one time when I droned on and on about Google Keep, a great tool for digital organization? Ok, maybe it wasn't just one time... guess what, it's back and better than ever!
Jot a quick note, create a to-do list, even save an image on a Google Keep note, then import it into a Google Doc to continue or expand your thoughts! Click the Tools menu → Keep Notepad (or the reverse, start in Docs and add to Keep (right click → Add to Keep Notepad)
Ask Kurt Wayton about how he uses Google Keep!
Resources for PD
Two of my favorite PD events are coming up this spring! Join me and other educators from around the state at:
- Edcamp Garden State on Saturday, April 29 from 8:00-1:00. This is a FREE unconference, designed by teachers for teachers! Register today!
- South Brunswick Technology & Learning Conference on Tuesday, June 27. This conference was inspired by educators who are excited about sharing and learning innovative ideas for empowering students to find their passion and self-direct their own learning (how awesome is that?). Before you register, ask me for the friends and family discount code! One of the benefits I get from presenting at this conference is a discount for YOU! Yay!
