Reading, Phonics and Writing
Reading:
L.K.1a Print many upper-and lowercase letters.
RF.K.1a Follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page. Book and Print Concepts
K.RI.K.5 Identify the front cover, back cover, and title page of a book.I can recognize the parts of a book and track in the right direction.
RF.K.3a Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound.
I can demonstrate a basic knowledge of letters and sounds.
Our letter of study this week is Mm. The past few weeks, we have learned about Cc, Oo, Aa, Dd and Gg.
Writing:

We are continuing to work on print concepts in reading this week. We are learning how to track while we read, point to Capital (Uppercase) and Lowercase letters. As students progress in their reading abilities, you will begin to see more letter and sound recognition.
SS/Science
I can describe my identify my community helpers.
Students will be able to identify who to find when they have an emergency and how to identify community workers. Ex.: Nurse, Teacher, Principal, Police Officer, Firefighter, etc.
Math
I can recognize and name 2D Shapes.
This week, we will be beginning our study of 2D (plane) shapes. Students will be constructing shapes, learning about their structure/make up and will be able to identify shapes at the end of the unit.
