A Message from Principal Choquette 2/16/18

Good afternoon and happy vacation! Let me start by thanking Mrs. Flaherty our PE teacher for the amazing Jump Rope for Heart program that she did with our students this past week. The kids had so much fun for such a good cause. There is still time to donate. Students should return their envelopes to school no later than Tuesday, February 27th. Online donations will also be accepted up until the 27th as well. Thank you so much to everyone who helped to support the American Heart Association!

After piloting a new van pick-up and drop-off routine in the back of the school, we have decided that starting the Monday after the vacation, that we will go back to our original van pick-up and drop-off spot on Union Street. The new plan just made it too congested out back. At least we gave it a try.

I hope you all have a wonderful vacation week. I will be out of the country all week and will return emails and phone calls when we return to school.

Thank you.

Girls on the Run Registration is Open!

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is officially starting at Bridge Street School on Tuesday March 12th! We encourage parents to register their 3-5th grade girls by Friday February 23rd. At that point, we'll have a good idea of how many kiddos are interested. We need eight girls in order to go forward!

GOTR is an innovative after school program that inspires girls to be joyful, confident and healthy, while using an experienced-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. The program encourages girls to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others: it's about girl power. No prior running experience necessary!

The program will run for ten weeks

and Wednesdays 3-4:30 p.m. at Bridge Street starting on March 12th. The final 5k race is on June 3rd at Springfield College.

There is a sliding scale for this program and financial aid is available for anyone and everyone - no girl will be turned away.

If you have any questions or need help registering online, please email 3rd grade parent Alex at
