Dear Parents & Families of Roger Williams Middle School!
Happy New Year 2023 to all of you! We hope you had a wonderful holiday recess. We have consistently met every month since school started in September 2022 and some of you have been at all four meetings! On behalf of the Administration, Faculty and Staff of Roger Williams Middle School, we will like to say a big thank you to all of you. This has been our first “In person” PTO meetings since Covid 19 -and your presence at the school has been very special and encouraging to us.
As we’ve always said at our meetings, our partnership with you is very important-and that is why we try to follow up with your suggestions and ideas. At our second meeting in October, we had some of our teachers present about the new curriculum we have at the school this year. At our third meeting in November, you were presented with information on Title 1and what you should know about this federal funding as parents and family members. During this same meeting in November, we conducted a short survey in order to find out what your interests were. Almost all of you indicated that you were interested in resources in the neighborhood so we had a presentation on them. At this point, I would again like to thank you for your total engagement during the presentation.
We look forward to sharing more ideas with you during our subsequent meetings next year 2023. Please continue to tell families and friends who may have children at Roger Williams Middle School about our PTO. As always, we hope you come with ideas which will help support our students in their growth to adulthood.
Again, we hope you all had a healthy and happy holiday recess. Let’s look forward to the new year 2023 with renewed hope-knowing that hope never fails.
All the best!
Dr. Dinah Larbi
ACCESS Testing January 9, 2023 through March 3, 2023
Our Multi Language Learners(MLL) will be taking the ACCESS test starting on January 9, 2023. Please ensure your child are in school each and every day. They should prepare for this test by going to bed early and eat a balanced breakfast each day. Please ensure your child brings their chrome book fully charged each day.
RWMS Dress Code
We will be looking for members of all our stakeholder groups to help develop RWMS dress code. One thing we are seeing now is that students are wearing pajamas to school as well as slides/open toe shoes. These will not be allowed during the school day. Parents, if you have any questions please reach out to me personally at christina.gibbons@ppsd.org.
