HMS Engineering Students Celebrate Super-Successful Fundraiser!
Mrs. Pratt's Engineering Essentials students are rightfully proud of themselves! They sold 163 3D-printed keychains and ornaments in their recent fundraiser, and brought in $978! After expenses, they will be putting $936 toward their upcoming field trip to the Accelerate Indoor Speedway to attend their STEM Academy. The fundraiser will cover the ENTIRE cost of the trip! Incredible! We are beyond proud of Mrs. Pratt and her EE students!
Joan Martin Student Recognized for His Thoughtfulness and Talent!
JM 5th grader, Cai Vrabel, was celebrated by his principals and Dr. Buffington on Tuesday morning for being awesome! His teacher, Mrs. Smith, told us that the fifth graders have been talking about possible future career ideas in class. Cai shared that he loves cooking and that he wants to be a chef and/or a baker. He asked his teacher if he could make a meal for her and bring it the next day. Of course, Mrs. Smith accepted! Cai brought in an insulated lunch bag with a huevos rancheros breakfast burrito that he had made that morning, along with an avocado to slice up and an apple on the side. He even handwrote a copy of the recipe that he used and included it in with the food! Mrs. Smith said " It was delicious! I was very impressed!" Cai was very proud of himself and we were thrilled to recognize his excitement and hard work in pursuing his dreams of being a future chef! The meal you made for your teacher showed your talent, potential, and kind heart. Way to #BeExcellentOnPurpose, Cai!
Elementary Schools Visited By Crossroads Bowl Athletes!
On Friday morning, football players from Tiffin University and Truman State visited our elementary students to introduce themselves and talk to them about hard work and perseverance! Some of the players even got hands-on with our students, playing games like dodgeball and The Floor Is Lava! Our little Brickies were so excited to have college athletes in their buildings!
TU and TSU will face off in America's Crossroads Bowl, played at our own Brickyard Stadium on Saturday, December 3rd! Good luck to both teams!
