Winskill Library
Check it out!
Welcome to the Winskill Elementary Libary Media Center: A Work in Progress!
As the cogs suggest, our library is a work in progress! Please be expecting many exciting changes this year as we work on changes in programming, décor, technology, policies, and hours. I will keep you abreast of things as they are implemented! Thank you in advance for your patience with Chris and myself! I will be at Winskill every other day. This will give me the opportunity to teach in the library. Hopefully we will find ways that I can coteach with you to enhance reading opportunities with technology as well. There are so many possibilities! I look forward to your suggestions and input! Please stop in as often as possible to check out what is new. The doors are always open! Add the following dates to your calendar now!
I'm looking forward to taking on the challenge as your Library Media Specialist!

International Dot Day: September 15th
The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.
Let's help Peter Reynolds celebrate International Dot Day at Winskill on September 15th. Register here and download the Dot Day handbook! You may decide to follow this theme the entire year! The Dot can also be found in our Tumblebook Library on Follett Destiny in our Winskill card catalog. (If you need a mini lesson on how to access either of these resources, let me know!) This will be a great springboard into The Global Read Aloud author study! Isn't it exciting when we can provide experiences for kids to connect their learning?
