West Shore Newsletter
November 2017
Note From the Principal
Dear West Shore Families,
Attendance Matters
Student attendance habits start at the elementary level. Together we must work to promote and foster the importance of school and good attendance. You will find attendance information in our Parent/Student handbook located on our WSE website.
For your information, attendance letters are sent home periodically to parents whose child has accumulated 5,10, or 15+ absences. The purpose of these letters are to inform you of you child's attendance record and to encourage regular attendance.
Please open links below to learn more about the importance of school attendance.
Chronic absence affects all kids, not just the absent ones. Learn how to get kids in #SchoolEveryDay here: http://bit.ly/1oqfID7
Missing 10% of school days, just 2 days each month, can put children at risk of academic failure. http://bit.ly/1oqfID7 #SchoolEveryDay
One in 10 kindergarten & 1st grade students misses nearly a month of school each year. http://bit.ly/1oqfID7 #SchoolEveryDay
