On Saturday, February 5th, Piedmont Academy held a father-daughter dance. It was hosted by the first-grade teacher, Mrs. Sanders, and over 60 people attended. The theme for this year’s father-daughter dance was “Boots and Bling.” A variety of music was played, and food was provided for the dance. Devotional
I once read a story of a girl who had a troubled past. Her dad abandoned her as a child. The girl struggled with this for a long time, and she eventually allowed this experience of her father walking out on her to completely alter her life in a negative way. In this Christian book I read, I admired the girl because of how she eventually allowed her horrible memories make her into a better person. This is why perspective is so important; perspective changes our lives either positively or negatively.
One of the most important aspects of a person’s life is their perspective. Our perspectives affect us every day. If we have a bad mindset, then we will continue to have a horrible day and life. Like the girl in the story, we have all had experiences that have deeply hurt us. If we dwell on these negative memories, eventually it will pave our paths for defeat. God forgives us, and He allows us to forgive others. Letting bad memories go, forgiving others, and allowing God to take control will alter our perspective completely and allow victory through the Lord.

Baseball
The 2018 Piedmont Academy baseball season will officially begin Tuesday, February 27th. There will be three baseball teams: middle school, b-team (JV), and high school. Wes Tanner, Colt Spivey, and Cameron Vaughn are the coaches for all three baseball teams. About four weeks ago, the high school began practicing in hopes of receiving a fifth state title in a row. Coach Tanner, the other coaches, and the boys are looking forward to another great campaign. Recently, Rob Allgood had a large blood clot in his arm which caused many problems.
Coach Tanner says, “We are playing this season all for Rob, and we are upset he will be out for the next three months.”
Good luck to the middle, b-team, and highschool Piedmont baseball teams!
