Learning for Life Award Presentation for Nicki case you missed it

The Learning for Life Award is presented to one employee each month and rotates between elementary certified, secondary certified and support staff. Winners are nominated by co-workers and selected by a team of employees.

In nomination forms, colleagues had this to say about Nicki:

  • “Nicki is our garden and laundry fairy. She keeps our playground garden beautiful by working before or after school...she won't tell you it is her, but we know it is. Same way with laundry, and we have a lot of laundry, as we use cloth napkins to be a ‘green’ school. Nicki helped gather, organize and deliver our back to school t-shirt orders. Nicki, like many of us, has a lot of big things happening in her life, but her joy and positivity radiate through her actions and interactions on a yearly basis.”

  • “Nicki connects with students. When a student is in upset, she is calm. She owns her role in the classroom 110%, she problem solves for and with students. She is always willing to add to the conversation, but also be a listener and a doer.”

  • “Her ability to find joy in her work, even when life is dealing her substantial challenges, she is joyful. That is something most of us benefit from seeing daily. You will not pass her by without a smile or a hug, she seeks others out who are going through a difficult time. She is a beautiful human! She is kind, and this world benefits from kindness.”
