Meetings in Review
Full Day Kindergarten
Full Day Kindergarten is coming to Methacton School District at the start of the 2022-2023 school year. Plans are well underway to welcome our first class of full day kindergarten students to Arrowhead, Eagleville, Woodland and Worcester Elementary schools. At the voting meeting in November, Dr. Deb Euker presented an update to the Board on the progress made on implementing the program. She shared that all the staff required have been put in place with training and other planning is ongoing.
This is truly an exciting time in Methacton School District. Providing this opportunity to students and their families will create a much stronger family-school relationship and help better prepare students socially and emotionally to succeed with the rigorous academic program. We will be hosting a Full Day Kindergarten Readiness event for families on January 13, 2022 at 7pm in the Arcola Auditorium. Kindergarten registration opens on February 1, 2022.
Swearing in of Newly-Elected & Re-Elected Board Directors
Two re-elected and two newly-elected members of the Methacton Board of School Directors were sworn into office at the Board's reorganization meeting on December 6. Montgomery County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Rogers administered the oath of office to Ms. Jennifer Cancro, Ms. Liz Drummond, Ms. Marissa Ruggiero Rocco and Mr. Greg Young. The recently-elected members join seated Board Directors Ms. Kim Aubrey-Larcinese, Mr. Drew Maginnis, Ms. Semira Perdue, Ms. Andrea Rees, and Mr. Paul Winters. The new Board also elected Ms. Drummond as Board President, and Ms. Cancro as Vice President. Ms. Drummond and Ms. Rees were reappointed to serve as representatives on the North Montco Technical Career Center Joint Operating Committee.

Enrollment Projections
The Board of School Directors in November approved FLO Analytics of Seattle, Washington, to conduct an enrollment projection forecast for the district. Dr. Zerbe explained that, as part of the Full Day Kindergarten program implementation, a third party enrollment projection study is needed to ensure the best use of existing district resources and to help in the planning with our capital projects plan. FLO will look to national, regional, and local trends and analyze district-specific data to prepare enrollment forecasts that take into consideration new housing trends, working environments, and economic factors. FLO’s demographers will be able to produce a forecast and, if necessary, provide options for redistricting in the future. Dr. Zerbe anticipates that a report should be available near the end of this school year and, as such, any data or need for redistricting would not take place prior to 2023-2024 school year.
