Parent Updates - Important Change To Community Engagement/Parent Info Night

Happy Sunday Python families. Below are some important updates for this week:

  • We have modified our plan for the September 28th Community Engagement/Parent Information Event. This event is now a parent support event and will be held at a location to be determined this week that is more accessible to all of our families. More information will be provided in the next few days with all the details.
  • Our originally planned community celebration is being rescheduled to February to encompass a larger multi-cultural celebration in which we can involve all of our students.
  • Don't forget to download the StopFinder App so you can keep up with your child's bus this year.
  • Instructions for how to sign up for Titan are below. Remember, this is your best way to monitor your child's meal account, daily menus, nutritional information, and to add money to your child's account.

Making safety a priority:

  1. We have already completed three evacuation (fire) drills and one lockdown drill. We will have a second lockdown drill this week. Ask your children to tell you about these drills.
  2. Our School Resource Office (SRO), Officer DaRin from the Leesburg Police Department, has been a regular presence on campus as he is getting to know our students. He will participate with us in our next lockdown drill. You can learn more about him in our upcoming October school newsletter.
  3. If you see something, say something! This does not only apply to our students, but to you as as parents as well. A parent reported a door that was not latching correctly when they came to pick their child up from school after school hours. This was reported to safety and security and a new latching system was installed.

Safety takes a village! Thanks to each of your for doing your part!

Purchasing A Charger for your Child's Chromebook

As many of you now know, the Chromebook assigned to your child is used daily at school and will be your child's educational lifeline should they need to participate in asynchronous learning. If your child's charger is lost or damaged you may purchase a new one though our Online Service portal on our school website: http://lcps.org/evergreen. Should your child's charger be deemed to be defective, LCPS will replace this free of charge. Below is a video with step by step direction on how to use our new Online Service Portal. If you have any questions please reach out to jessica.cruz@lcps.org or cassandra.marra@lcps.org.

Here is a video you can watch if you need to purchase a new charger. The cost for a new charger is $30.00.
