A Message from Principal Jackson

Hello Miner Families,

As summer begins to draw to a close we are working to lock in final plans for our virtual start to the school year. Today teachers and staff were able to see a draft of a schedule. We are anticipating feedback and approval of the schedule this week so that we share it next week in the bulletin.

Staying in line with the DCPS commitments there will be a larger focus on ensuring students are receiving an increase in live sessions with staff as well as narrowing the learning platforms. This will ensure students are receiving direct instruction with all of their teachers regularly and that parents and students have one location where all of their learning can be found.

We are 99% staffed toward next year but only 80+ percent enrolled! If you haven't enrolled yet please do so online. If you need assistance with enrollment please email us at MinerESEnroll@k12.dc.gov and we will schedule an in person appointment to complete enrollment with you.

I know this must sound like a broken-record at this point but please complete the technology survey (even if you do NOT need technology). This information is critical in ensuring DCPS provides Miner with enough devices to meet the needs of our families. If you need support in completing that please reach out to Principal Jackson or Ms. Offor so that we can assist you!

Tell all of the students we said hello! Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and know that we are here if you need us!

If you need anything from the school, here are the best contacts to use:

Stay safe and let the school know if we can be of any assistance.

Respectfully,

Principal Jackson
