Pine Island Parent Press

September 2017

From the Principal's Desk....

The entire staff at Pine Island Elementary School welcomes you to a new school year!

The Pine Island Parent Press is a monthly newsletter that informs you of things that are going on in and around our school community. Keep your eyes open for this coming home with your child each month and also posted on the Pine Island Elementary Facebook Page!

I am looking forward to a fantastic year! You can contact me by phone (254-5504) or email me at sreehl@cppschools.com if you ever have any comments, questions, or concerns.

Again, the teaching staff has worked hard on preparing for this school year and they can't wait to begin their journey with your children. Together, Let's make Pine Island great place to learn!

Entertainment Book Sale

Pine Island is selling Entertainment Books again this year! 3rd graders took a preview book home while 4th and 5th graders took an order form. The sale runs August 24- September 5. The books are $30 and the orders will be filled as the orders are turned in. The money raised will go towards materials to support our Leader in Me program. Thanks in advance for your help!

NEW Student Luncheon

We care about our new students!! We will be holding a New student luncheon once a month to welcome them and check in with them to make sure they are having a seamless transition to our school. Each student will be invited to attend 2 months in a row to a pizza party in their honor! Hopefully we can catch all the students and make sure they love Pine Island as much as we do!

.

This year our theme is "Wild about Leadership". We are in our 2nd official year of The Leader in Me program and we are sooo excited to share this experience with your children and YOU! Be on the lookout for parent opportunities that include training and at home family projects.

Recycling takes Pine Island by Storm!

We continue to have the paper gator out in our front parking lot. This container takes books, paper, magazines, and newspaper. Feel free to drop off your items anytime! Your donations of paper are turned into insulation for new homes and a small amount of money for Pine Island.

Chuck E Cheese Fundraiser Nights

We have partnered with Chuck E Cheese on Alpine to have monthly school nights. Students will get flyers and stickers home for reminders. The school nights run 3-9pm and 15% of the money goes back to Pine Island. First one is on September 15!!
