It is time for winter break yet?
Figurative Language
This week the second grade students had the opportunity to visit all four second grade teachers to learn about different kinds of figurative language. While in each classroom they created new pages in their My Figurative Language ebook. Ask your child to share their book with you.
Homework
Over the last couple of weeks I have seen a decrease in completed homework assignments. I am hopeful that this will not continue after winter break. Each night (Monday-Thursday) your child should be reading 15 minutes, logging their reading into Schoology or Reading Rewards, and completing a math page. I have discussed this multiple times with the students. I am confident that the new year will start us off on the right track!
Operation Shoebox
Thanks to all of you that donated to our Operation Shoebox service project. The students had a chance to assemble the packages on Thursday for preparation to ship them to our troops over the weekend. It was wonderful opportunity for our students to give back to our military.
Happy Holidays
It is a true pleasure to work with each and every one of the students in my class each day. They are hard working and kind individuals. You should be very proud of your children for their accomplishments throughout the first half of 2nd grade.
Also, a special thanks to you the parents, for all that you do to support your child and their education. If it wasn't for you our classroom would not be successful. Again thank you for working with me cooperatively for your child's best interest.
I truly hope you have a wonderful winter break. Enjoy these precious moments with your child and the magic of the holiday season!
Happy Holidays!
Kindly,
Mrs. Traci Nigro
