Message from Mr. McDermott

Good afternoon Wildcats,

I hope you are enjoying your summer. We are looking forward to meeting our incoming freshmen on July 28 from 8:00 to 12:00. We will start in the WCHS Performing Arts Center with a presentation for parents and students. After the meeting, parents are able to leave and return to pick up their students at 12:00 in the cafeteria. Please read below for more information on activities for Freshman Orientation.

County-wide registration will take place on Friday, August 5 from 8:30 to 12:00 in the cafeteria and media.

We are excited about the start of the 2022-2023 school year and working with our students and families. Welcome back Wildcats!

Thank you,

Mr. McDermott

Registration/Meet the Teacher Day!

Registration will take place on Friday, August 5 from 8:30AM to 12:00PM in the cafeteria and media. Please park in the lot near the cafeteria as Weightman Middle School will also be having their registration. Freshman orientation day will substitute for the county-wide registration day for our freshmen class. This means that parents of freshmen and freshmen students will NOT need to attend the “County-wide Registration Day” on August 5th.

Parents and students are invited to come to the Performing Arts Center at 8:00 a.m. for a Parent/Student University meeting. After the meeting parents will be released and can pick-up their students at 12:00 p.m. At noon, the parents can tour the campus, pick up student schedules, pay fees, and purchase lockers. We are excited to meet our newest Wildcats and hope you will join us on this exciting day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Koslin, Assistant Principal, at 813-794-8700.

Representatives from vital areas of WCHS will be in attendance to explain departments, clubs, and programs. Mentors known as Pack Leaders, will be on hand to lead student groups through team building initiatives and important freshmen activities. Our administrative team, school counselors and our School Resource Officer will be in attendance to reinforce high school requirements and expectations. The Summer Orientation is a one-day program that is essential to starting each freshman out on the right paw!
