Women's Champion Simona Halep
Fun Wimbledon Fact
Men's Champion Novak Djokovic
Keep Playing, Keep Working, I hope you watched some Wimbledon!
Wimbledon has been a fun tournament to watch and it is cool to learn some of the history behind the tournament! Excited for Simona Halep with her first Wimbledon Win and she only had 3 unforced errors the entire match! Amazing! The Federer vs. Djokovic Final was a match of great winners, long points, and just action packed tennis. The Nadal vs. Federer SemiFinal Match was also a great one to see as well! Not going to lie, wanted to see Fed win it after he beat Nadal, but regardless the tennis was something to see! Such a close match with 3 TBs and the first 12-12 TB since they changed the rule this year to avoid marathon matches!
Not too many updates this week and I will leave the general information below for good reference. Only 3 more weeks of summer open courts. This week we have two days and if it is supposed to get real warm we may bump it up a half hour earlier to avoid the added heat.
Ways to prepare for Beginners or Non-High School Players:
- Vetta West Clinics and Private Lessons
- You also have the clinics and privates offered at other local tennis clubs (Chesterfield Athletic Club, & Woodsmill/Frontenac).
- After all the clinics and lessons I also included looks for tennis gear, etc.
Ways to prepare for the 2020 Spring Tennis Season (High School Players):
- Gladiator Tennis, which is super flexible and you can play a lot of guys you'll see next season, as well as USTA Team Tournaments. You get an opponent once a week, and you set up the date/time you can play them! We already have some teammates signed up!
- USTA Tournaments and JTT Tennis

We will work on our CONDITIONING, FOOTWORK, and TENNIS SKILLS. I will always give time for PRACTICE MATCHES as well at least once during the week. We may invite some other schools and to have a little tournament kind of like we run the JV Tourney just to get some other competition in besides ourselves.
