Leopard Spotlight!

The Leopard Spotlight for 1/20/23 goes to Mrs. Clarissa Shirley! Mrs. Shirley consistently has a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She worked tirelessly this week to ensure that yearbook photos went smoothly. We are grateful for the meaningful work she does with our Photojournalism and Yearbook programs. Thank you for the intentional thought you put into bringing these students' creativity and passions to life!

Attendance Task Force Weekly Report

Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).

Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:

Lovejoy Robotics

Lovejoy Robotics had a rockin' start to the New Year this past Saturday in Southlake by winning some great judged awards and rookie team 1082M made it their furthest in the elimination bracket all year! 1082M fought hard, went undefeated for all qualification matches, and ended as semifinalists and they logged their highest driver skills score. We are so proud of their growth and success so far! Also, we had success with 1082Y winning the Judges Award, 1082R winning the Innovate Award and 1082C winning the Design Award! These teams, along with 1082 E, K, P, and T who also competed at Southlake, all exemplify hard work, determination and the Lovejoy spirit we all love so much. Way to go teams!
