Chester Elementary School
October 9, 2023 / Honoring Achievement!
Dear CES Family,
As you well know, we had our Jog-A-Thon run last Friday and it was a tremendous success. THANK YOU for your generosity. Mrs. Geer, who spearheaded the event, had this to say:
"Exciting news from our school Jog-A-Thon! Our students have shown incredible dedication to their health and fitness over the past two weeks. With daily 10-minute exercises, they have made a positive impact on their well-being. An impressive 105 kids registered for the program, raising an outstanding $10,863. Let's give a round of applause to our top earning class, Kindergarten, and a special shoutout to Leilana Buckley, our top earner who brought in nearly $3,000.
To celebrate their achievements, our students participated in a thrilling Jogathon event on Friday. It was a morning filled with laughter, friendship, and a collective celebration of a healthier lifestyle.
Thank you to all the students, parents, and supporters who made this Jog-A-Thon a success!"
Thanks so much to Mrs. Geer for all of her hard work, along with the staff that kept the students motivated throughout the event. Stay tuned for more news about how we will be utilizing these funds to make great things happen on our campus!
P.S. Yep, that's a parrot on my shoulder. A big trust exercise with one of our fifth-grade student's pets...thank you, Jadin! Thought I was going to lose an ear.
Orbeez and Water Beads...Beware
Trends! Some are great and others not so much. One of our students put an Orbeez in his ear this week and wound up having to be referred to the emergency room at Seneca Hospital in order to have it removed. If you're not aware, Orbeez and water beads are pretty popular at the moment and students are being influenced via social media to do some, well, dumb things with them.
