Crossing Guard Appreciation Week is NEXT week, November 18-22, 2019! Please show them some love and kindness with cards, signs, or small gifts. Remind your children to always be sure to thank them for keeping them safe.

Do you have a crossing guard you think needs to receive Metro Atlanta Crossing Guard of the year? Nominate them here: http://saferoutesga.org/content/crossing-guard-appreciation-week-november-18-22-2019

WALKING TO TALLEY SAFETY!

For the safety of children walking to Talley, please DO NOT PARK on Shadowmoor Drive
Hilldale Drive, or Derrydown Way.

We have had several near accidents in the Winnona Park neighborhood. There are NO sidewalks on these streets and a lot of dangerous cut through traffic. To help keep these walkers visible, avoid parking on the above streets, particularly on Shadowmoor between Columbia and Derrydown, and Hilldale between Shadowmoor and Winnona.

Please see below for alternate park and walk, or drop off and walk options to Talley Street.
We will reassess and provide updated info when the new signal at Talley Street and S Columbia Drive is functional.

The link below includes additional info on park and walk locations, and designated Safe Routes to School for all our CSD schools. https://www.decaturga.com/activeliving/page/safe-routes-school

Peace & Pie Potluck Dinner on Tuesday, November 19

Remember how we used to get to know each other before Facebook and Instagram? With potlucks, and dinners, and stories. Well, the PTO Diversity & Inclusion Committee invites you to give it a try on Tuesday, November 19. This is a night for us to share delicious food and meaningful, candid conversations about the life experiences that have shaped who we are.

Bring your favorite sweet or savory pie to share. At best, you'll make new friends, and build some community, maybe hear a fresh jazz tune. And, at worst, you can steal a good pie recipe for the holidays.

Did we mention free childcare? Please register so we can get a headcount.
