Warrior News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
December 6, 2019
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
This past week brought several reminders about the importance of community and safety. Throughout the week here at MHS we reviewed our safety procedures and engaged in powerful discussions on strengthening our school community. A theme of “if you hear/see something concerning, say something” was reinforced in multiple contexts. We reminded our students and staff that we all share the responsibility to ensure that our school is the safest place it can.
We need your help as well. If your student ever shares a school safety concern with you outside of school hours, please contact our police department immediately. Even if you are unsure about the information, it never hurts to have someone look into it. Remember, time and time again, research has shown that strong school culture and positive partnerships with families are foundation to great learning and school safety.
We will continue to be fully committed to doing everything we can to make MHS the safest place it can be. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out at anytime.
Have an awesome day and GO WARRIORS!

Help Us Grow - Parent Survey
One of the ways our district strives to continuously improve in the work we do is to seek out your feedback. The survey provided in the link below has a menu to select which school you are providing feedback for. We would greatly appreciate your time in completing one survey for each school your family has a student attending.
Here is the link for the survey: Muskego-Norway School District Parent Satisfaction Survey.
This survey will be open until - 12/11/2019.
Once the survey is complete, the results will be analyzed by an outside organization. The data from the survey will be sent to each school and the Superintendent. Muskego High School will then create specific action steps to improve in our work based on your feedback. Our action steps and our results will be shared out via our Weekly Newsletter.
Thank you for your partnership and support of your child’s education with us. Please contact me if you have any questions concerning the survey.

Motivation and Adolescents
This article shares helpful insight on internal vs. external motivation. When adolescents struggle with motivation to engage in their learning, complete homework, or general motivation to succeed parents can sometimes use external rewards to attempt motivation; however, research shows increasing internal motivation is helpful for long term success.
MUSICAL PRODUCTION - BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Toy Drive
Spanish National Honor Society toy drive to collect 1200-1400 gifts for children in 12 different villages in Mexico. This project was first organized by a group of people in Tucson, Az in 2001, who were familiar with these cities close to the border. Since then many other teachers and people travel to these villages every year to give school supplies and Christmas gifts. This is a very remote area of Mexico and it is likely that these are the only gifts that most children will receive. The Spanish National Honors Society's is very proud of its participation and we are happy to know our efforts will be greatly appreciated!
Join us in congratulating the following students for being recognized as
