Panther Post
October 30th - November 4th
Hello Lopez Families,
I need to give a shout out to a couple of teams for their accomplishments over the season. Our 8th grade Girls Volleyball team ended the regular season undefeated and the District Champs. Pictures below. The game photo is when I was sitting on the corner of the court hoping not to get hit by one of Carlee's monstrous spikes.
Also below is a picture of Jimmy, one of our athletes competing in the Special Olympics Bowling tournament. Our kids did so well and represented Lopez proudly.
Our 7th grade boys football team also locked up district champs last week, really dominating all of their competition. We are so proud of them.
Lately we have been seeing parents drop off drinks such as from Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks during the day. Please note that food and drinks are not allowed in classrooms and we will not be able to accept them. Thanks for your understanding.
I also want to remind everyone that students will not be allowed to wear costumes to school on Halloween. It is actually a district policy.
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mr. Wernli

Habit 4- “Thinking win-win can be tough for some because it is not win for one. Often our first thought is to be competitive or compare ourselves to one another and want to Win. Think Win- Win is about working together with your peers, teachers, and families to reach success. It takes a lot of maturity and humbleness, but can be done – As a family and at school not everything is negotiable, but having discussions with the mindset of win-win, the outcome may come with less resistance. A teen who seeks mutual benefit, is cooperative, not competitive and is listening more is a teen practicing win-win.
