The Pure Food and Drug Act was an act that prevented the manufacture sale or transportation of poisonous foods, drugs, medicines, and liquor's. I am proud of the government for making this act because it saved lives and kept people healthy for the most part. My evidence is a cartoon of a guy holding a bottle saying it cures adulterations and that fake foods quake remedies.
Industrialization-Economic
The Sherman Anti-Trust Act prohibited certain business activities that Federal government regulator's deem to be anti-competitive. I am proud of the government for allowing this act because it gave the government the power to control monopolistic corporations in the event that those corporations were using their position of power unfairly. My evidence is an article about the Sherman Anti-Trust Act and why it was important.

The Industrial Revolution was a transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from 1760-1840. I am proud of the government for allowing this event because it gave a new look on life and new inventions that we still use today. My evidence is a picture of people working in a factory.
Immigration-Political
Ellis island was a prime immigration station where some 12 million immigrants passed through to get examined, so they could come into America. I am somewhat proud of the government for having this process because it kept Americans safe from bad illnessesand kept from increasing poverty rates. My evidence is a video of what people had to go through and sacrifice at Ellis Island.

The Tenement House Act reinforced the need for ventilation and light for life in the tenement house districts. I am not proud of these tenement houses because they were filthy and uncomfortable for immigrants. My evidence is a picture of people living in a tenement house.

Prejudice and discrimination were a big thing at this time because of all the immigrants. People would have preconceived beliefs about groups of people or cultural practices. I am not proud of this because everyone should be treated equal and no one wants to be treated unfairly and feel judged all the time. My evidence is an article about prejudice and discrimination during this time period.
Urbanization-Political
Political Machines were organizations run my a Party Boss that provided social services and jobs in exchange for votes. I am not proud of political machines because they cause corruption and they used people to get them to others to vote for them. My evidence is a cartoon showing a guy with money as a head which shows he only cared about himself instead of others.

The Granger Movement was after the American Civil War, this was to meet the needs of farmer's and to improve the economy. I am proud of this movement because it gave farmer's what they needed to keep their farms and animals healthy. My evidence is a picture of a farmer giving her resources to the government.

The Hull House was a housing for European immigrants started by Jane Adams. I am proud of the Hull House because it provided shelter for the unfortunate and poor people's. It also stayed pretty clean as far as I know. My evidence is an article about Jane Adams and the Hull house.

The Women's Suffrage Movement gave the right of women to vote and to stand for electoral office. I am proud of this movement because now women have a say in the government and can run for office. My evidence is picture of women during the movement.

The Graduated Income Tax or also known as the 16th Amendment allowed the congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or basing it on the United States census. It exempted income tax from the constitutional requirements. I am not proud of this because I rather have a sales tax because if you buy something you sell something. My evidence is a document of the 16th amendment.

The Child Labor Act addressed child labor by prohibiting the sale in interstate commerce or goods produced by factories that employed children under the age of 14. I am proud of this act because it gave somewhat of a sense of urgency to stop child labor because kids shouldn't be treated that way. My evidence is a video of children working in factories.

Yellow Journalism was a style of journalism that emphasized sensationalism and exaggeration over facts. They would twist facts to make them sound more interesting and sensational. I am not proud of this because it allowed people to send false information to those who read them and sometimes scared people even though the information wasn't true. My evidence is a document of a yellow journal.
Imperialism-Economic
The Panama Canal belonged to Columbia, which caused problems with America. In order to secure rights to the Canal Zone, the United States had to support the Panama Rebellion to break free from Columbian rule. I am proud of this event because America took charge and got what they wanted which was using the canal for trade. My evidence is a cartoon of the Panama Rebellion.

The Dollar Diplomacy encouraged the United States to invest in South and Central America, Caribbean, and the Far East. I am proud of this because it allowed us to become allies with these countries/continents. My evidence is a cartoon of the Dollar Diplomacy.

The League of Nations was an international organization that ended the 1st World War
and kept peace in the nations. I am proud of this because it allowed peace in America and all nations. My evidence is a documentary about the League of Nations.

World War I-Economic
The Economic Rivalries were conflicts between Germany and Britain, Germany and France, Germany and Russia, and also Germany and Austria. I am not proud of this because it caused problems and conflict which is never good with any circumstances. My evidence is an article about the economic rivalries and what caused them.
World War I-Social/Cultural
The Trench Warfare was a land warfare using occupied fighting lines consisting largely of trenches, in which troops were protected from their enemy. I am not proud of this because it caused lots of sickness and war is never a good thing. My evidence is a picture of people in trenches during these battles.
