Academic Lab
We will pay students 2 points in Live School to stay and work on improving by completing homework, missing assignments, retaking assessments, etc. We are also recruiting students to stay and serve as mentors as well. Those students can either earn community service hours or also get paid in Live School.
Please use the Google Form below to sign up your child to get extra help via Academic Lab each time you want them to stay.
Buses and Road Construction
Road Construction at Hwy 152 and N. Platte Purchase Dr. Starts Tuesday: MODOT will be constructing a diverging diamond interchange at Highway 152 and N. Platte Purchase over the next nine months. Crews will close N. Platte Purchase Dr. between 88th Street and NW Tiffany Springs Parkway beginning Tuesday, September 7 and continuing until Sunday, May 15, 2022. Crews will also close all MO Route 152 ramps at N. Platte Purchase Dr. during construction. Some of the ramps may reopen in November 2021.
This will impact five bus routes in this area, and some timing changes may become necessary as we reroute. We will communicate any changes to affected routes as soon as possible via email.
Visit MODOT for more information: https://www.modot.org/node/23824.
First Home Football Game and Pirates ROCK Community Tailgate - Friday, September 3
This Friday is the Pirates first home football game (Pirate Stadium, 7 p.m. kickoff). Before the game, Price Chopper in Platte City is hosting our Pirates ROCK Kickoff and Community Tailgate! Come join the community before the Pirates take on the Kearney Bulldogs for the Highway 92 Showdown. Tailgate is from 5-7 p.m.; performances by PCHS drumline, cheerleaders and dance team from 5-6 p.m. Free hot dogs, chips, water, popcorn, and FUN! See flier for details.
Football fans: Due to construction, we will only be using the north gate for Pirate games this year. To avoid waiting in long lines at the gate, we highly encourage ALL fans to use our digital ticket option. You can purchase digital tickets by clicking the link below and simply use your phone or device to show that ticket to our gate workers. Admittance to the game is $5 for adults; $3 for students. PCHS students who show their school ID, and persons aged 55 and older showing a valid ID are free.
Football Game Reminders
5th Grade: Pirate football games are a time for us all to gather and enjoy some fantastic company and great sports. Please remind your students that the football stadium is an extension of the classroom, and appropriate behavior and good sportsmanship are expected. As a reminder, elementary students should be supervised by a parent and with you at all times.
Grades 6-8: As we gear up for our first Friday Night Lights Pirates football game, we are asking that our students sit with their families at the game. Due to our construction, there is not a middle school section for them to sit as a group and therefore, they need to be seated with a parent. We do ask that you don’t drop them off unaccompanied throughout the evening. They can sit with friends, but it needs to also be with a parent. We want our students to be there, be loud, be proud and cheer on their Pirates, but in a way that respects all in attendance.

COVID-19 Quarantine Guidance and Data
Please see the attached quarantine guidance for students or staff members who are identified as a close contact to a person with COVID-19. The graphic outlines the requirements if all parties are appropriately masked, as well as if they are not. These quarantine procedures are in alignment with directives from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Platte County Health Department (PCHD).
We will post numbers of reported COVID-19 cases and close contacts in our District on our website, displaying data from the previous seven days, as well as 7-day rolling average information. These cases will include staff and students, and will only include those reported to the District.
This information will be available on our District website here starting Tuesday, September 7.
