St. Louis County Offers Free COVID-19, RSV, Flu Testing
Testing is one of our most important tools during the fall and winter months. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services offers free drive-through testing for COVID-19, RSV and the flu at South County Health Center on Thursdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.. This testing will continue through March 2023.
Patients of all ages are able to get tested, no appointment required. To receive a test, simply enter the drive-through line at the clinic. Patients can pre-register through the NextGen patient portal, and they will receive results by email. If a patient does not have an email account, NextGen staffers will register them at the site and call them with results. The Get Tested patient portal can be found at dynd.gettested.me.
COVID test kits continue to be available for pickup at South County Health Center Mondays and Fridays, from 8 a.m. until noon. For more information please visit the DPH Testing page.
Winter Weather Update for Families
As colder weather approaches, now is a good time to remind families and staff how we prepare for potential school closures that can result from snow, ice, or other severe weather events.
In the event of inclement weather, we will decide to close school based on a number of factors, including student safety, bus transportation, road conditions and wind chill temperature. When possible, the decision to close school is made by 10 p.m. the night before. However, if the decision cannot be made by 10 p.m., then a decision will be made between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. the next morning.
If the decision is made to cancel school, all families and staff will receive a phone call, text message and email notification.
Winter Celebration Snacks - Each child brings an individual snack from home
Winter celebration snacks
To improve our process and protect the health and safety of all students, classroom snacks and drinks will not be provided for winter celebrations. Students should bring a healthy snack and drink to enjoy individually.

Staying Healthy During Flu Season
The holiday season means an increased risk for respiratory illness, but there are steps we can take to stay healthy.
Stay home when you are sick. This is the most important way to keep our friends and coworkers safe and protected.
Testing is one of our best tools to prevent the spread of COVID-19, along with getting vaccinated and boosted.
Learn when and how to take an at-home COVID-19 test here.
The CDC recommends that children age 6 months and older should get a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC also recommends boosters for children age 5 and up, at least 5 months after their second shot.
The CDC estimates that between 6,000 and 26,000 children younger than 5 are hospitalized each year in the United States due to influenza. The flu vaccine is safe and helps protect children from flu.
Did you know? Improving ventilation in your home can help you reduce virus particles and prevent respiratory viruses from spreading.

‘What School Could Be’: Board of Education Readalong
Lindbergh Schools Board of Education members invite the community to join them in reading “What School Could Be,” by Ted Dintersmith. The board will read this book during the 2022-23 school year and discuss it during quarterly Board Workshops.
“What School Could Be” is an inspiring account of teachers in ordinary circumstances doing extraordinary things, engaging and inspiring students, and helping them develop purpose, agency, essential skill sets and mindsets, and deep knowledge. The insights of these teachers offer a vision of what school could be, and a model for how to help schools achieve it.
Please fill out the form below to request a copy of the book, or click here to learn more about it.

Foundation Florida Fundraiser
The Lindbergh Schools Foundation is having their Florida Vacation Fundraiser once again this year. To learn more about this fun opportunity, please visit the Foundation website.

Parent Pick Drop Off & Pick Up:
If you are driving your child(ren) to school, please follow our parent drop off and pick up route. Please DO NOT park on Sunset Drive to pick up or drop off students. Thanks for help!
- Students should not arrive at school before 8:40
- Please practice caution and put cell phones away during student drop off and pick up
- Please put your car in park when students are loading and unloading into cars
- Please have students enter on the passenger side
- Parents/guardians please remain in your car
- When on Kennerly Road and waiting to enter the school's parking lot, please put on your hazard/flasher light to alert on coming drivers. Thanks.
Please be sure your child knows how they are getting home from school. I know teachers have reached out to confirm. Safety is our top priority and we want to make sure dismissal goes smoothly.
