Queen of Apostles School

Term 2 Week 6 - Thursday 1 June 2023

O God,

You sent the Holy Spirit upon the apostles as they were united in prayer with Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

May the Queen of Apostles, the same Mother of us all,

help us to serve Your majesty faithfully,

and to spread the glory of Your name by word and example.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Quality Catholic Education School Review

The Quality Catholic Education School Review (QCESR) provides an opportunity for a panel of educators, external to the school, to affirm, challenge and report on the improvement journey at the school and the Principal’s leadership.

The QCESR focuses on the school improvement context and the Principal leadership context, measuring the effectiveness of a Principal’s leadership and engagement with self-review, the impact of a school’s engagement with self-review, and the future directions for the improvement of student outcomes that the school has identified.

The QCESR Panel has been in our school this week and as part of the process they have met with the Leadership Team, a selection of staff, a selection of students, Parish Priest and nominees from the Catholic School Advisory Council and P&F group.

At the conclusion of the QCESR Panel visit, a two-part report will be completed. The first section comments on the school improvement processes and strategic direction and will be written and forwarded to school leadership. The second section comments on a Principal’s leadership and professional growth and development. It will be written and forwarded to the Principal and CEWA Executive Director.

Tomorrow we will celebrate the feast of Queen of Apostles .

Wellness Week!

Week 7 will see our staff and students enter Wellness Week for Term 2.

Next Wednesday to Friday (Monday - Public Holiday, Tuesday - Pupil Free Day) will see our students explore different aspects of their wellbeing (physical, mental, social/emotional and spiritual) as well as providing opportunities to practise some self-care habits.

Students will not have set homework during Week 7 (yay!) and may wear their sports uniform on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday 9 June it is a FREE DRESS DAY where students can wear comfortable clothes. Parents are asked to only book meetings with teachers for urgent matters during Wellness Week.

On Friday 9 June before the assembly, we will have a coffee van parked outside the hall from 8.00am to 9.00am for parents and staff to buy a coffee before school. Who would say no to a freshly made coffee to start their morning on the right note?

We look forward to exploring our wellbeing and building our knowledge and skills in this space.

Report Time is Coming!

Semester One reports for students will be available for parents on SEQTA Engage at the end of Term 2, so now is the time for you to check your login to make sure you have access.

New families from Year 1 to Year 6 and all Pre Primary families will have received a welcome email this week directing you to set up your account for SEQTA Engage. Both parents have been sent the email, however if you are happy to operate just one login for both parents, you don't need to set up the second one. If you can't see the email in your Inbox please check your Junk or Spam folders as sometimes these emails will appear there as they are sent in bulk.

Kindy reports are sent home with the children and are not available on SEQTA Engage.

Please check your access NOW and contact the office if you have any problems. Don't wait till the last week of term to check.
