Greetings PV Families
I hope this communication finds you well and enjoying the emerging colors of fall. 🍁🍃🍂
Our students have been very busy! Next week, we look forward to introducing a new area of our webpage: PV Showcase. We will be highlighting the many happenings and activities of our students across all of our buildings! In addition, we are exploring efforts to engage with the larger PV community (specifically those that do not have students in our schools) to share events and news. For example, have you heard about our Senior Citizen Gold Card program? Residents age 65 and over can enroll in classes and attend PV events at a savings of 50%. More details can be found on our website.
We are also expanding our efforts to showcase our students with our newest YouTube Channel: PVSD Athletics. The channel will broadcast live sporting events. A schedule of events will soon be available on the PV Athletics webpage.
And finally, no communication would be complete without a few COVID reminders. To start, we’d like to remind families that, as part of Perkiomen Valley School District’s Health and Safety Plan, parents/guardians are expected to monitor their child(ren) for symptoms of COVID-19 every day prior to sending them to school. See below for additional information including the link to the Symptom Monitoring Acknowledgement form agreed upon as part of online verification.
In the event of a positive COVID case, District nurses engage in contact tracing. We have developed seating charts for all key areas such as the classroom and lunch room. We are in the process of developing seating charts on all of our buses as well. At the elementary level, students have been assigned seats on the bus. At the secondary level, we are working with students to assist them in choosing a seat. Their chosen seat will become their assigned seat moving forward. Students are expected to sit in their assigned seat at all times while on the bus. As a note, students are expected to wear a mask/face covering on the bus as well as while in our schools.
Lastly, we are working with Skippack Pharmacy to learn more about upcoming vaccination clinics for students ages 5-11 years. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

REMINDER: Daily Symptom Monitoring
- If your child presents with two (2) or more of the following symptoms: fever, chills, fatigue, myalgia, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea OR One (1) of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or new loss of taste or smell, please do not send your student to school and contact your medical provider for either a differential diagnosis or a COVID-19 test.
- If your student presents to the school nurse with these symptoms, under the guidance of the Montgomery County Office of Public Health, your child will not be permitted to return to onsite learning until a differential diagnosis is presented or a negative Covid test is received.
Do not hesitate to contact your child's school nurse with any questions or concerns. We appreciate everyone doing their part to help protect our school communities.

For each day students intend to take either the 4:00pm or 5:00pm activity bus, they are asked to inform the school district and bus company for routing purposes using the electronic form provided. The form links are below and also available to students via the PV LaunchPad - Classlink. Students must submit their information each morning by 10:00 am if they intend to ride the afternoon activity bus that day.
Special Education Partnership Opportunities
What is an IEP? My child is struggling, and I don’t know what to do! How is a 504 different from an IEP? Oftentimes, these are questions or concerns we hear. This year we are excited to offer a series of opportunities for our families in efforts to build partnerships and provide information to questions you may have about the supports and services available to you and your child. Please see the list of dates below for Special Education (SE) Roundtable sessions and MCIU Local Task Force meetings.

If you are not automatically prompted to complete the online verification process, choose Online Verification from the top menu items.
Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the verification process (the process will need to be completed for each child you have enrolled in the PV School District). For assistance, refer to the directions within each section.
When finished with all steps, select Submit

Comprehensive Plan - MidPoint Review
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires all school districts to engage in Comprehensive Planning every six years. In 2017, a committee of stakeholders collaborated to define our District’s mission, vision, and goals. This year we will be engaging in a mid point review of our Comprehensive Plan. We welcome your voice to the process! Please consider joining us. Learn more on our website.
Bags of food, including 2 breakfast items, 2 lunch items, 2 snacks, and 2 fruits, are sent home with students prior to every weekend. There is no financial information required to participate in this program and students pick up their bags from their counselor or designated person every week.
