Westward Expansion Activity

The Oregon Trail was a 2000 mile historic east-west large wheeled wagon route and an emigrant trail. The hard journey began around 1843 when 50,000 pioneers went west in a 25 year span.
- Pioneers traveled across the Oregon Trail, one of the main overland migration routes on the North American land, in wagons in order to settle new parts of the United States of America during the 19th century. The Oregon Trail helped the United States implement its cultural goal of Manifest a Destiny.
- They made a game about the Oregon trail.
- If the Oregon trail did not exist, then the settlers would not have had as safe a route to take when traveling west. Although the settlers taking this road were faced with many hardships, they may have been forced into even worse situations if they did not already have a route to follow and just tried going off of the trail.
