Words of Wisdom
Honest people don't hide their deeds.
~ Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights
Honesty in relationships is a very caring, even courageous, way to connect with others. There's something about being authentic with our family, our friends, students, and colleagues that lets them know that we care enough to be real with them. Honesty with our feelings—combined with caring and respect—can be very endearing to those around us. It can build a strong connection. Trying to be someone we are not can be exhausting and disingenuous. It can damage the structural integrity of a relationship. Our students take many cues from us each day. Let your actions reflect a kind and respectful honesty. Let them witness the benefits of being an authentic person.
With something to think about . . .
Remember to take care of yourself.
Be proud of who you are and free yourself to be honest in all your relationships. It feels liberating to do so!
Happy Birthday!
