Week 4, Term 4

Principal's Message

We are all full to the brim with pride for our students, support staff, teachers and student teachers. It takes an army to be able to put on a show so thank you to all our parents and whānau for the work behind the scenes – we couldn’t do it without you.

I want to especially acknowledge the work of our Directors Rachel Hogarty and Rebecca Silcock who have worked tirelessly in the background since the end of Term 2 to bring the script to life. Many hours of personal time have been dedicated to the production. Thank you to Stephanie Barr and Emily Hollis who stepped in to support Rachel when Rebecca had to fly to Ireland; our thoughts are with her and her family. Thank you to Kylie Roberts, the student teacher in Kauri, who supported Kauri class when Stephanie was pulled in all directions to support as Production Technician. Also a special mention to Jessica Roper, our student teacher in Kōwhai, and Katrina Jonkers who stepped in to support while Belinda Hoebergen has been away. Our thoughts have also been with Belinda and her whānau this past week.

To our main cast and backstage crew – thank you for your resiliency and commitment. You have sacrificed a lot of your own time for this show and the work has certainly paid off; you did us all proud.

Last but not least...our students. My cheeks were sore from smiling from ear to ear and some proud tears may have escaped in the past couple of days. To see students just giving it their all on stage and overcoming their fears is inspirational and reinforces why we do what we do.

Our staff have appreciated the many messages of support and congratulations, thank you!

Kia ora rawa atu

Many thanks
