Attention all parents/caregivers of 6th graders
On August 27, 2018 your 6th grader will be welcomed to King Philip Middle School in the coolest of ways! It’s WEB orientation day!! You’re probably thinking “What is WEB?” WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) is a transition program that welcomes 6th graders and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience. Our WEB Leaders (members of the 8th grade class) are trained to act as positive role models, motivators, leaders and teachers who will guide the 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful in middle school.
WEB orientation is mandatory for all incoming 6th graders. The program begins at 8:00AM but you may drop off your child at the King Philip main entrance as early as 7:30AM. WEB leaders will be outside to assist with drop-off and answer any questions that parents/guardians may have. After goodbyes, 6th graders will be escorted inside by the WEB leaders and down the hall to orientation. We encourage students to come with an open mind, a positive attitude and a water bottle.
Orientation ends at 12:00PM and students may be picked up at the main entrance. We look forward to meeting the future leaders of our King Philip community!

There are several events/activities throughout the year. Please choose at least one to get involved.
"Public Act 16-189
We believe that it is vital for all students in West Hartford Public Schools to be able to efficiently and effectively use digital tools that empower them in all phases of the learning process, including research, problem solving, content creation, communication, and collaboration. We also believe that we must be committed at all times to protecting students' privacy and providing them with a powerful and safe educational experience. To that end, the West Hartford Public Schools follow the legal requirements of Public Act 16-189 to promote the safety and security of all students and staff.
In compliance with Connecticut State Law, we update online programs used within the district that house student data. The programs may be used district-wide, in a very small number of classrooms, or with individual students. The list will be updated each time the district enters into a new contract where student data is housed. For more information on the specifics of Public Act 16-189 and updates of vendor agreements, visit www.whps.org/pa189."
