AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
In our faculty learning session on Wednesday Mrs. Feagan and Mrs. Pomales took us through Domain 1: Planning of T-TESS. I really appreciate the discussions about our work and the thinking the two of them took us through. The flip charts are a very useful tool that will help push your thinking as well as provide a guide and think about for each Domain.
When I think about teaching I cannot help but think about the question listed above. Are you reaching all of your student? How do you know? What is your evidence that students are learning what you are needed them to learn?
It all begins with planning. As you are planning lessons and learning activities, think about that question. Build in to the lesson or activity a checkpoint, formative assessment, mastery check, or an exit ticket so that you know if they are getting it or not. The results of any of these tools will tell you what you need to do next. Just as the flip chart lists... before, during, and after the lesson. Use the resources provided when you are planning and you will see a change is your daily work!
Think. Achieve. Succeed.

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
ARD Forms - Why?
You have probably received at least one request for information regarding your special populations students.
Did you know: Your information is critical to the ARD process!!
The special education teachers on our campus are responsible for collecting information and data from all teachers who serve a student. We then use that information to look at critical areas of need for the student.
If we are missing information in any area, it makes it much more difficult to determine the areas of need and what we should be doing to target those areas.
Did you know: We are required to send home a draft of the paperwork 7 days before the ARD meeting so that parents are able to meaningfully participate in the meeting.
For this reason, it is imperative for you to complete any and all requested information in a timely manner. Without your input, we can't plan appropriately for our students.
Technology Tip of the Week
Are you having difficulty sifting through all of the emails that come into your inbox each day? Have you ever tried creating filters to help redirect emails to different folders? This approach will help you to be able to sort out the non-essential emails as well as automatically organize and classify emails as they come in to your account.
