Principal Update
Greetings Gosling Families,
The end of trimester 3 is just about 3 weeks away! On Tuesday, March 7, WUSD Junior students will take the statewide online ACT Test. Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior students will NOT have school on Tuesday, March 7.
Have a great weekend!

Excusing Student Absences
Given winter cold and flu season is in full swing, we want remind families that if your student is missing school because they are sick to be sure to report the absence to the WHS attendance office by midnight of the day of the absence. Medically excuses for absences should be turned into the attendance office within 24 hours of the absence. If a student is not excused by a parent/guardian then the student is considered truant and subject to school consequences. Stay healthy and, as always, contact a WHS Associate Principal if you have any questions or concerns about your student’s absence!
You can reach the Attendance Office the following ways:
Phone: 920-262-7537 or 920-262-7500 ext. 6408
Fax: 920-262-7538
Advanced Learner Program Focus Group
The WUSD is in the midst of an Advanced Learner program audit that involves feedback from several stakeholders, including our parents. Advanced Learners are sometimes referred to as Gifted and Talented. The goal of the audit is to review current programming and make improvements based on our feedback from sources that include surveys and data analysis as well as focus groups. Parents are invited to be part of a focus group discussion with our consultant, Jackie Drummer, via Zoom on Wednesday, February 22 at 6:00 p.m. Jackie has many years of experience serving Advanced Learners in the state of Wisconsin and is eager to have you share your insights for what would be approximately 45 minutes. You may access the meeting at the link below and do not have to have a child in the program to participate. Please contact Dave Vitale or your building principal with any questions. Thank you.

Summer 2023 will be here before you know it, and as a parent of a teen – you're probably wondering what high schoolers should/could be doing. In addition to personal growth, doing something besides sleeping and going on TikTok during the summer months (when there is more free time) can be helpful for students when starting to build out their college applications.
Collegewise counselors are sharing their tips on how students can maximize their summer break, make an impact, and explore their passions in preparation for college.
