BONNIE AND CLYDE- Bonnie and Clyde were a young couple raised by poor families in Texas. This couple was known for robbing banks in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. They were gunned down by police in early 1934.

JOSEPH T. ROBINSON- Joseph T. Robinson was Arkansas 23 governor, he was known for being a New Deal supporter and he replaced Senator Jeff Davis once he died.

BARKER-KARPIS GANG- The Barkers were a family that were sharecroppers from Missouri, and Karpis was a man by the name of Alvin Karpis aka Creepy. This gang was know for killing and kidnapping in Arkansas, until they killed a cop and they slowly got picked off. After the rest of the gang got caught or killed they sent Alvin Karpiss to famous prison Alcatraz.
THE NEW DEAL
THE NEW DEAL- The New Deal was a promise that Franklin Roosevelt gave to the people if he got elected. This deal gave financial support, hope, and jobs to the people who needed help in all states, including Arknasas.
OIL BOOM
OIL BOOM- At the start of the roaring 20s Samuel T. Busey discovered oil in the town of El Dorado, Ar. This discovery led to thousands of people drilling for oil. During this boom The small town of El Dorado was home of 59 oil companies and around 30,000 residents. Sadly the boom ended around 1930.
FLOOD OF 1927
FLOOD OF 1927- The flood of 1927 was caused do to Melting snow, and constant rain. This led to the Mississippi river overflowing, this caused the water to flow on to land and destroy property, caused people and pets to die, and ruin crops in states including Arkansas, Illinois, Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri, and Kentucky
ENTERTAINMENT
ENTERTAINMENT- After WWI the roaring 20s was a good time to live due to Radio coming out, Jazz music was invented, you had more freedom in what you could wear, and Television got big even though it was silent and in black and white. Arkansas first Raidio station was WOK, and it opened in Pine Bluff in the mid 20s.
GREAT DEPRESSION
GREAT DEPRESSION- The Great Depression hit Arkansas around 1929 and caused people to go hungary and homeless. If it wasnt bad enough Arkansas also had a drought which means that the climate was too dry and the water was going away even know there was a flood only a few years before that.
