MRS. BASSETT WINS EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANT
The name of the Grant is "Just Right" Classrooms Promote Student Success. Mrs. Bassett said "We need to create classrooms with materials that motivate, inspire and allow for students to grow as learners". She wants to incorporate special features in her classroom including filtered lighting, flexible seating and carpets for buddy reading to generate a learning atmosphere. She also requested "books, books and more books" as well as legos to develop problem solving skills and the application of the Engineering Design process.
Congratulations Mrs. Bassett!!

DRESS THE TURKEY CANNED FOOD DRIVE
Tomorrow is the last day to bring in cans!!
Once again this year our Hughston Student Council is hosting the "Dress The Turkey" Canned Food Drive! K-2 and 3-5 students will compete to see who can “Dress the Turkey” with the most feathers.
For every 5 cans a student brings in, they will get one feather to add to one of our 2 turkeys located in the cafeteria. If they bring in 15 cans, they will get a gold feather which counts as 4 feathers. The turkey with the most feathers wins, and that group's teacher will dress up as a turkey!
The special Turkey for K-2 is Mrs. Moore, and the special Turkey for 3-5 is Mrs. Cauhape!
The Canned Food Drive goes from November 7th - 18th.
