It's finally GO TIME!
Thank you so much for working on the bus karaoke! It was SO elite!
I can't wait for the next two weeks! I know they will be elite!
Here are some reminders for us a staff:
#LiveOurBestLives
1. Dress Professional
2. Be ExExExCited
3. Communicate (with verbals and non-verbals) that we are SO excited for our scholars to "LEVEL UP" and show what they know
4. REST and REPEAT!
It is going to be a great testing season! I know the hard work every single person in the schoolhouse has done to make it elite! Thank you for your relentless focus and efforts!
Here are some other notes:

Lesson Plans are due Friday either to folders or to me.
I will get feedback to you Monday. Remember, we are looking at TKES #2. You have a copy of the rubic. You can self reflect your lesson plans as well!
Learning must not stop during and after testing! We must communicate to our scholars that we are always learning and growing!
The "I KNOW THOSE PEOPLE" inspiration FLIPGRID is ready to rock and roll! I have even convinced Dr. Brooksher and Dr. Robertson to play along! They love middle schoolers.
The FLIPGRID is here: Please insert your ELITE inspirational message!
LOVE the flip grids! Keep 'em coming! We want to use them throughout the two weeks of testing. The goal is to make every single day of testing (ALL 10) ELITE!

What I'm Reading.... (The •5)
#LeadLAP
You all know my all time favorite professional book is Lead Like A Pirate. I have read it at least ten times and carry it with me EVERYWHERE I go. And I mean everywhere.
I came across this just this morning when I was reflecting:
"I want to see the sparkle of resiliency and the gumption of a risk taker. I want to see thier passion for learning come to life in the way they work. I want to know that they are willing to revise, redo, change, take risks, and fail forward."
Besides being ALL in for ALL scholars every day, that above statement is mandatory to be here at BCMS! I want to see ALL of that as you interatct with ALL our scholars-- in the classroom, on the court, in the halls, at lunch.....
Think about your body language this week and how you are interacting with our scholars! You have the power to bring out the very best in them every time you interact with them! Are you doing that?

Teachers:
Your lesson designs are the magic wand! YOU are the magic!

The rubric is here.

Focus On:
Your lesson designs:
I am giving you feedback on your rubrics. How are you using it to make your planning #LevelUP
Standing up and engaging and interacting with our scholars makes a difference in mastery! How often are you making that effort?
QUICK REVIEW of our instructional strategies 1-4
I need to see evidence of one of these instructional strategies in your classroom lessons when I do a walk through or observation!
1. Instructional Objective: Have it visual, aligned, and reference it
2. Suffix/Root Words/Prefix: Have them visual and accessible. Model use
This will be integrated into ALL ELA and SS classes next year. Stay tuned for information!
3. Gradual Release: I do, we do together, we do collaboratively, you do. How are you using this in your teaching?
4. Types of Text: How are you using both informational text and literary text
ALSO:
1. Collaborative Planning is made up of three buckets:
Lesson Designs
PLCs
Data Analysis / Digging / DUMPing
Learning with Liz times:
7th grade 8:45-9:15
6th grade 11:45-12:15
8th grade 2:15-2:45
Here is our lesson design template: (make a copy first) https://docs.google.com/a/bryan.k12.ga.us/document/d/1YGAYfD7wP-xieqvJk0PXu7CXLgonm7JfSTQAuTpWOKY/edit?usp=sharing
Coming soon.....
Shadow a student day in a different grade level.
Stay tuned for details on how to enter this ELITE learning experiment!
You don't all have to have LIZ RAEBURN HYPE....but is your body language and energy level giving off the "I LOVE BCMS" vibe that helps set and promote the growth mindset in our scholars?
Check out this link below for some good ideas that you can implement during your teaching in the next ten days!

Never get tired of doing little things for others. Sometimes those little things occupy the biggest parts of their heart. What will you do today? Be kind. Always.
