From Dr. Gruman
Dear Northwest Families,
We have enjoyed another busy and exciting week of learning and activities with our students. Our sports teams have been working hard at tournaments and competitions. Our cheerleaders returned from National Competition this week and we are very proud of how they represented SMNW! Our band program hosted our area festival and welcomed our elementary and middle school students for a night of awesome music! We encourage you to visit our websites and Twitter for more highlights.
Congratulations to Morgan Tate, an Award of Excellence winner in our PTA Reflections Program in the category of Literature! She will advance to compete at the state level. Morgan is a multi-year award winner. We are excited to celebrate Morgan.
We want to celebrate our musicians that qualified for KMEA All-State band, choir, and orchestra:
Band - Amber Quint – Flute, Justin Stratton – Horn
Jazz Band - Dylan Reed – Alto Saxophone, Asher Trimble – Trombone (Senior)
Choir - Luke Dent - Tenor 2, Ellison Bonge - Alto 2
Orchestra - Wolfgang Sell - Full Orchestra Viola, Andrew Mitchell - String Orchestra Violin
