Tuesday's Tech Tip
Video Resources for Teachers and Students
Youtube is blocked for students...what do I do?
- Show Youtube videos to the class by projecting them in a whole class setting. Be sure to use a tool like SafeShare.tv or Viewpure to prevent inappropriate ads/comments/suggested videos from popping up.
- Check out these 47 alternatives to Youtube compiled by Richard Byrne.
- Downloading Youtube videos is not recommended, as it goes against Youtube's TOS. We need to model for our students how to be good digital citizens.
And - my favorite alternative - Discovery Streaming! This year every teacher and student has a Discovery Streaming account! To log on, go to google.discoveryeducation.com. You(and your students) can log in to Discovery Education's website and access thousands of videos, audio clips, graphics, and much more.
