Principal's Note
Dear Families,
I hope that everyone enjoyed their extended 3 day weekend! We have only 7 more Mondays left this school year- where does the time go?! April always brings us unpredictable weather. We can go from heat to rain (and sometimes SNOW) in a matter of seconds. With the change in temperatures, we are finding a growing lost and found. Please make sure to remind your student to look in the lost and found for misplaced items. Labeling your students things will help staff get them back to their owner.
We will continue to wait outside before school and go out for recess as long as the weather permits us to. That swing in weather sometimes makes it hard to guess how to have students dress. We recommended layers so students can be comfortable at different temperatures.
We appreciate your continued patience with COVID protocols. Please review these links to know if your student is well and can/should attend school:

We have a lot to be proud of here at Carver. Thank you for partnering with us and helping us make Carver the strong community that it is!
Sincerely,
Gena Abrahamson, Principal

Carver will have a yearbook for this school year! See below to order by April 30.
Yearbooks will be delivered in the summer/fall with multiple options available for 5th graders to get theirs delivered or picked up.
If you DID NOT get your students picture taken with Lifetouch and would like to add a picture to the yearbook, here is how you can submit a photo:
- Share on the Shutterfly Sharesite at: Https://carverelementaryisd622.shutterfly.com/ The password is: Panda (Capital P)
- Make a comment with the student's name and grade
- Pictures will need to be a headshot of just the student and with a white or relatively plain background. For best quality the picture should be taken as a headshot vs a larger image that has been cropped down.
School year pictures are needed! Please help us gather great shots of your students both in school and in distance learning!
- Send pictures to: carverpto.ryder@gmail.com

Specialists for Distance Learning
We will be on a 9 day rotation. Students will have music, STEM, or physical education for 9 days and then will rotate.
Students need to complete specialist work in the 9 day rotation to keep pace with their in-person learners. Getting in the routine of completing one lesson each day is ideal.
Specialists will not hold Wednesday live zoom sessions at this time.
In-person learners will follow the 9 day rotation with their grade level class.
