Live Oak
The live Oak grows from between 2 to 2.5 feet per year. It usually grows during the Summer and Spring in the Southern Coastal Plains. The leaves are evergreen and has broad, flat leaves. It produces acorns and has a life time of over 200 years. The acorns travel around with the help of animals and reproduce somewhere else. Some organisms that are dependent on it are insects, small moths, and birs like the songbird. The tree quickly regrows in areas suffering substantial wildfires. They rarely require irrigation which helps them withstand long, hot summers with no water.
southern magnolia
The southern magnolias climate is the southeastern United States. Its full height is 60-80 and Its life span is about 40-80 years. It has evergreen broad leaves and produces large white flowers that also pollinate the tree. Lots of animals benefit from the tree such as brids, insects and deer. A parasite that can infect the tree is verticillium wilt. It causes the leaves to wilt or whole branches to die.
Texas Red Oak
The Texas Red oak trees have rapid growth rates. They need to be at a location with hours of sunlight such as the southern states along the coast. Texas Oak tree grows up to 30 to 80 ft. They could live up to 100 years in the perfect conditions that are required for the tree. The leaves on the plant have sharp edges and alternate on the stem, they could grow up to 4-8 inches long. The Texas Oak rarely produces fruit. They only begin to produce acorns at an old age. These acorns are the main factor of their reproduction.
Many organisms are dependent on this tree for shelter purposes and food. A bird could build a nest to live in the tree, while insects and squirrels eat the fruit and leaves the tree beholds. The Texas Red Oak has a fatal disease called oak wilt. It is when the bark of the oak tree becomes to weak form the lack of water and sunlight. This creates the death of the tree, when the leaves and branches fall off. This tree needs the abiotic factors of the sun, water, and carbon dioxide to help its growth and health for it survival in the ecosystem
Limiting Factors, Abiotic Factor, Biotic Factor
Lack of water, wrong type of soil, or not enough room to grow can be a limiting factor. It needs abiotic factors such as enough water, right type of soil, adequate sunlight, and enough room to grow. Trees can make lots of effects on the Timberview area. They are very nice for the landscape and can create shade and shelter for animals.
Survival for Plants
For a tree to survive it needs to be planted while the tree is small. It needs to be watered and have nourishing soil. For it to survive it needs to be safe from parasites and other factors that can be destructive. It needs plenty of room to grow.
