Happy Winter!
It’s time for reminders of winter preventatives that sometimes we forget through the warm months of the year:
· Wash your hands; wash your children’s hands! The number one spreader of all germs are our hands, so please be aware of washing hands frequently and having kids wash their hands immediately upon getting home from school. This one act will help your home be healthier.
· Help children to get plenty of sleep, and encourage them to eat breakfast every day.
· Remember that lice “season” is winter, only because our kids are playing closer together and playing indoors more than outdoors. Please be mindful of not allowing sharing of coats, hoods, hats, and scarves. Don’t share hair ties, headbands, and playing with a friend’s hair in class is to be discouraged. We want to prevent any possibility of spreading “critters”, and pulling long hair back is a great way to help. Please check your child’s head weekly and whenever they report feeling “itchy”.
· Drinking water throughout the day is the number one way to boost our immune system! Most teachers are amendable to this, and I always encourage students to bring a refillable water bottle to school each day, and to refill it (at least) 3 times a day! While we have our furnaces running and drying out the air we breathe, it’s very important to replace the water back into our bodies all day long.
· Fire and burn prevention is near and dear to my heart. I am doing burn prevention presentations/discussions in some classrooms in the next 2 weeks and your students may be bringing home some information to share. Please remember some safety tips this winter season: don’t light candles and leave them in a room unattended, water your real Christmas tree daily (assign a specific person this job!), check all wires on light strings to be sure they aren’t frayed, and never leave portable heaters running when you aren’t in the room or at home.
As always, please don’t hesitate to call me with any questions regarding these things or any other ideas. Everyone is gearing up for the holidays and the halls of our school are filled with energy and excitement; let’s stay as healthy as we can for celebrating Christ’s delivery into our world!
Your children are a blessing,

SCRIP- Shop to Earn Cash Back for Tuition!
With scrip fundraising, families can easily earn cash for tuition for their own children (80%) and for the school (20%) while they shop.
Scrip is simple. Order gift cards, e-cards, reloadable or printable certificates for many places at which you shop, dine and play already and a percentage of what you spend comes right back to you as a credit on your student account. Simply use scrip gift cards for everyday purchases, and earn a rebate on each one at no additional cost.
Scrip is easy. Families purchase online – no checks, no submitting order forms to the school -- and your cards/certificates are available either instantly for print, redemption on your Smartphone, or as reloadable gift cards. For more information, visit the Scrip website at www.shopwithscrip.com.
To sign up you will need our Traders Point enrollment code. However, we are unable to publicly publish our enrollment code for security reasons. Please email tpcascrip@gmail.com for this code and further directions.
We pray this will be a blessing to all of our Traders Point families!
