Emery Eagles Families,

Happy September!! We have had a fantastic start to the new year! All the students came back ready for a great year!

We are excited about our school hours.. 8:15am-3:40pm. Please remember to have your children here early so they can get their Grab N Go breakfast and walk to class by 8:15. If your child arrives after 8:15 then parents need to walk them into the front office and sign them in.

Also, we are happy to welcome back lunch visitors. Starting the week of September 18th, visitors are welcome to come eat lunch with their children on Mondays and Fridays during the week. We know your children love seeing you at lunchtime!

Then we can't wait to see you at Skate Night, today from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. We can't wait to see you there! Also, we are having a School Fundraiser starting the week of September 18th. Information will be sent home next Monday with more details.

Muy feliz septiembre!! Hemos tenido un fantástico empiezo a nuestro año escolar! Todos los estudiantes regresaron listos para un gran año!

Estamos emocionados con nuestro nuevo horario escolar.. 8:15am-3:40pm. Por favor recuerde traer a sus hijos temprano para que puedan agarrar su desayuno y estar en su salón para las 8:15. Si su hijo llega después de las 8:15 los padres deben entrar a la oficina para firmar por ellos la llegada tarde.

También estamos emocionados de darle la bienvenida de regreso a las visitas del almuerzo. Empezando la semana del 18 de septiembre, los padres están bienvenidos a venir a almorzar los lunes y viernes. Sabemos que sus hijos se emocionan al verlos durante su hora de almuerzo!

Today our Assistant Principals met with all Kindergarten-5th grade students, to review the Student Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct provides regarding standards of conduct, consequences of misconduct, and procedures for administering discipline. With that, we reviewed the Safety Pledge, which all students are expected to adhere to.

"I want my school to be a place where all students feel safe and treat each other with respect. I will keep my hands and feet to myself and not touch personal belongings of others. I will not bully, tease or hurt anyone. If I hear or see bullying/cyberbullying or teasing, I will tell the person to stop and report it to an adult. I will tell an adult right away if I hear anyone threaten another person. I will immediately tell an adult if a student brings something to the school that could hurt self or others."

Nuestros sub directores se vieron con los alumnos de Kinder-5to grado, para repasar el Código de Conducta Estudiantil.

El Código de Conducta establece normas de conductas, las consecuencias de mala conducta, y los procedimientos de disciplina. Con eso, también repasamos la promesa de seguridad, la cual todos los estudiantes se espera que sigan.

"Quiero que mi escuela sea un lugar donde todos los estudiantes se sientan seguros y se traten con respeto. Mantendré mis manos y pies para mí y no tocare las pertenencias personales de otros. No seré un bully, no me burlare ni lastimare a nadie. Si veo o escucho bullying/cyberbullying o burlas de alguien, yo le diré a la persona que pare y lo reportare a un adulto. Le diré a un adulto de inmediato si escucho que alguien amenaza a otra persona. Le informare inmediatamente a un adulto si un estudiante trae algo a la escuela que pueda lastimarse."

If it is an over-the-counter medication such as cough drops, Benadryl, Tylenol, it MUST be a brand new, UNOPENED bottle/bag.

Welcome back Eagles from your Emery PTO! We hope you’ve had a fantastic summer! We’d also like to extend a warm welcome to the new Eagles joining our Emery Family. In addition, the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) welcomes back all parents, teachers, and staff to a fresh start in the upcoming academic year.

The Emery Elementary PTO's main objective is to support the school community in any way possible. We believe that a strong partnership between parents, teachers, and students is key to a thriving learning environment. We envision a school that provides the best possible education, nurtures creativity, and fosters a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

We have so many fun things planned for the 2023-2024 school year. We encourage parents to join our organization, attend meetings, and get involved in school activities. Our meetings are opened to all Emery families so you can come check us out even without a membership. PTO provides an excellent opportunity to connect with other parents, teachers, and staff. Volunteering for school events, fundraising, and organizing activities is a great way to make a positive impact on the school community. We hope you can join us in the fun this year!

Bienvenidos de regreso Águilas de Emery de PTO! Espero hayan tenido un verano fantástico! También les queremos dar una cálida bienvenida a las nuevas Águilas que se unen a nuestra familia de Emery. Además, el PTO( Organización de Padres y Maestros), les da la bienvenida a todos los padres, maestros y personal a un nuevo comienzo de año académico.

El objetivo del PTO de Emery es de apoyar a la comunidad de nuestra escuela en todo lo posible. Creemos que una asociación solida entre padres, maestros, y estudiantes es la llave para un entorno de aprendizaje prospero. 📚Library News

This year, our focus in the library is on helping students love to read about lots of different topics and people. We want them to wonder and be curious! So, throughout the year, we will be highlighting some of our databases and books that are about weird or interesting things!

All summer Texas has struggled to provide enough electricity for everyone during this record breaking heat. If you’d like to know a bit more about electricity, check out this book.

Finally, please look around your home. If you see any books with a library barcode sticker on them that have been hanging out for a while at your house, please bring them to the Emery Library. Even if they go to another CFISD school or the Harris County Library, Ms. McGinness will get them returned to the right place. We are hoping to get all our books back home so they can visit with new families this year!
