Testing Schedules - BEGINS THIS TUESDAY

The state of Tennessee requires students in grades 3-5 to take the TN Ready Test.

Grades 3-5 will begin testing on April 18th. The last day of testing will be April 26th.

Any student who misses a test will be required to make up the test when they return to school. PLEASE do not be absent unless it is absolutely necessary or an emergency. Do not schedule any appointments before noon. We will be testing!

.

Grades K-5 will take STAR during the month of May. This test helps us monitor growth and identify students who may need intervention through RTI, summer learning camp, or tutoring.

Parents:

Arrival: Please make sure to have your students to school on time. Students in grades 3-5 should be here no later than 8:05, but by 8:00 am is even better.

Hunger: EVERY STUDENT may buy breakfast, but YOU MUST ARRIVE BY 7:50 am.

Students will test better if they are not hungry. So, please make sure they have had breakfast. The cafe closes at 8:00 am.

Rest: Please make sure your child has an early bedtime during testing. Thirty minutes earlier than normal is a great idea. Testing is tiring for students.

ABSENT/TARDY:

STUDENTS WHO ARE ABSENT DO HAVE TO MAKE UP THE TESTS. IF YOU ARE TARDY, YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE CLASS FINISHES A TEST BEFORE JOINING THE CLASS. MORE THAN LIKELY, TARDY STUDENTS WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND TEST IN THE AFTERNOON.

NO SMART WATCHES

No Smart Watches (Apple Watch, Garmin, etc) are allowed in testing areas during TN Ready. Please keep them home these days. If they are brought to school, the watch will be placed in office safe until a parent can pick up or until the end of the TN Ready testing window on 4/28/23.

Lost and Found

Several items have been found and have been ocated to our new lost and found area located in the gym. Please remind your child to look and check for any lost items here. We want our students to have everything they need and not lose expensive items that are important to them.

Please remember to charge computers nightly!

Set a routine for charging each night before bedtime.

We have several students in grades 3-5 who are forgetting to charge their computers. Computers are not used all day but they are used to supplement instruction. Teachers use IXL, Canvas, Reflex, EPIC, MyOn Reader, and Mastey Connect to reinforce and assess standards. When students' computers are not charged the students become frustrated and it can make their day more challenging. Please help your child establish a routine.
