Western Europe

A fact about this region is Switzerland is part of Western Europe, and one of the wealthiest countries in the world.


Countries that are in the western part of Europe are Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, the Holy See, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.


Foods that come from the western are:


-Waterzooi, a Belgian stew and soup dish with meat and vegetables.

-Onion Tart, which is a French dish that has a sort of earthy flavor to it, based on the ingredients.

-Roast suckling pig, a famous Portugal dish that is pale and tender, often for special occasions and gatherings.

Northern Europe

One fact about this region is that before the 19th century, is was code-named as 'Nordic' or 'Northern'.


Countries in this region are of Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the British Isles (United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man).


Foods that come from the Northern part are:


-Egg cheese, a well-known Finland dish that is most like bread.

-Frikadeller, a Denmark dish that is pan-fried with pork and veal with spices.

The Mediterranean

A fact about this region is that the Mediterranean Sea covers about 2.5 sq km and has average depth of 4,900 ft.


Countries in the Mediterranean are Gibraltar, Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Cyprus, Akrotiri and Dhekelia, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, State of Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco.


Foods that come from these countries are:

-Chicken Parmesan, a popular dish in Italy that contains homemade chicken and a special sort of sauce.

-Taramasalata, a mainstay dish in Greece with tzatziki, melitzanosalata, and fava.
