Grades

All Middle School students will receive a PC-19 or WC-19 as their final grade for their middle school courses. These final grades are determined by averaging their 1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, and 3rd Quarter (until March 13) numeric grades. Students whose grade is a 60% or higher will receive a PC-19 (Pass) as their final grades. Students whose grade is below a 60% will receive a WC-19 (Withdraw).

I encourage all students and parents to check Powerschools to view their student's grades. All students have the opportunity to improve his or her 3rd quarter grade through the completion of teacher assigned activities that reinforce the standards that were covered during 3rd quarter before March 13th. Students must submit this grade improvement work by May 29th.

Any student taking a high school course for credit (Math 1, Math 2, or Spanish 1 only) has the option of choosing to receive a numeric grade in place of PC-19/WC-19 by completing this form. This form must be signed and submitted to his or her grade level counselor no later than May 29th. If a middle school student chooses to use the numeric grade, please note:

  • The numeric grade will be reflected on the high school transcript.
  • The class credit is earned (and reflected on the high school transcript) with the PC-19 option AND the numeric option.
  • The numeric grade will NOT be factored into the student's high school GPA.

Online Learning Expectations

During this time of remote learning, there will be a great deal of online instruction and interactions. We will review online learning expectations with all students. We also want you to know the norms for interacting that we will communicate to them. Please review the expectations shown here.

Also, consider having your students visit one or both of the following Internet Safety sites so they can learn how to keep themselves safe in this digital world.
