The event is two weeks away and we feel there is no way to pull it off successfully. We will consider postponing the event until sometime after the Winter Holiday IF we have enough help.

Topics of Discussion
Recycling – All recycling can be put together (it does not need to be sorted). As a reminder, DO NOT allow kids to put trash into the recycling bins and this includes laminate. Please refer to the colored recycling poster Ms. Reid gave to us at the last staff meeting. If you did not get one, please see Ms. Reid.
Recycling is being picked up 2x per week by 5th grade students.
Planters – Thank you to Wilson’s Nursery and Ms. Reid and her family for making our front entrance area beautiful! The planters look great!
A note of thanks will be sent in the parent newsletter to thank Wilson’s Nursery for helping to make our outdoor entrance area of Ebinport beautiful.
LitterBug Busters – 4th and 5th grade LitterBug Busters begin this week. They will alternate weeks cleaning up the outdoor areas around the school. A calendar has been completed and alternates weeks with 4th and 5th grade students in Challenger. The beautification committee will see that the teams have gloves, bags, and the grabbers for collecting trash. The 4th and 5th grade LitterBug Busters will also have incentives for the playground that had the least amount of trash collected.
A parent reminder will be posted in the school parent newsletter reminding parents that the bins have been moved and to check the bins regularly with their student and to label student jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles, etc.
A friendly reminder to all grade-levels; please try to pick up any trash left by your grade-level on the playground especially on ice-cream days.
Lost and Found – The Lost and Found bins were moved to the sitting area just outside the cafeteria. Please have your students check regularly for lost items. Ms. Nassy will put signage above the bins. Our first donation will be at the end of October.

Caution: If you are offended by scripture and prayer please do not feel obligated to read further or watch the video below.
This week, I was reminded in some not so subtle ways that I have no idea what our students go through when they leave our building. I can't imagine what they witness, hear or are exposed to. I hope that I am a "gate keeper" for children. I hope that I will have the strength to let the enemy know that I've got my eyes on the enemy. I hope that I will remember it is more important to be sympathetic to what lies beneath a student's behavior than to continually play "wack-a-mole" with the secondary behaviors that surface.
Our jobs are not easy by any stretch. They are often thankless and we are tired more often than not. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for being an advocate for children, especially those who have no one else that will be their gate keepers or who have no one else to warn away the enemy!
